Dr. Pankaj Banode, who is an eminent, well known Interventional Radiologist in the country specialized in the treatment of vascular (arterial and venous) disease, neurovascular disease, hepato-billiary and gastrointenstinal diseases through minimally invasive, non-surgical access. He has a diverse therapeutic approach, using all the most recent treatments like radio-frequency, laser, glue and intravascular ultrasound.
Dr Pankaj Banode has been associated with DMIMS, JNMC medical college for more than 18 year as an head of the department. Dr. Banode developed an minimally invasive arterial and venous vascular activity within DMIMS group hospital (AVBRH) and performed an endovascular approach with regard to occlusive arterial lesions (stenoses, occlusions) and aneurysms (arterial dilatations). He practices carotid stenting and neurointerventions through minimally invasive non-surgical approach.
Dr. Banode is also developing clinical research and teaching activity under the aegis of the Datta Meghe University ( DM course in interventional Radiology and Fellowship in IR ). He has been practicing vascular, Neuro vascular and oncointerventional for more than 15 years . and has treated thousands of patients across the region each year ( around 12,000 angiography , 4,000 vascular intraventions, 5,000 Non vascular interventional and more than 6,000 endovanous laser and thermal ablation procedure ( for varicose veins) .
He has under gone sub intimal angioplasty training in university hospital of Leicester , UK , as well as training in TACE for hepatoma at Seoul General Hospital . South Korea. He was also trained in carotaid interventions in vascular hospital , Brussels , Belgium.
He has devised ‘Banode Index’ which is used internationally for the assessment of Carotid plaque morphology.
